〜後で

Formationverb た-form + 後で (noun + の + 後で)

後で marks what comes next, and here the verb takes the plain past even when the plan is in the future. It is the mirror image of 前に, tense rule included. With a noun, add の.

   My legs ached after the long walk.

2. 富士山ふじさんに登のぼった後のちで一いち首しゅ浮うかんだ。

   After climbing Mt Fuji I got the inspiration for a poem.

3. 僕ぼくが多少たしょう譲歩じょうほした後のちで、彼女かのじょは計画けいかくに合意ごういしてくれた。

   She agreed to my plan after I had given a little.

4. 列車れっしゃに乗車じょうしゃした後のちで、私わたしは財布さいふを家いえに置き忘れおきわすれてきたことに気が付いきがついた。

   After I got on board a train, I found I had left my wallet behind at home.
