〜ね

Formationsentence + ね

ね checks that the listener is with you, the way English tacks on isn't it. It turns a statement into something shared rather than announced. Overdo it and you sound fussy; leave it out entirely and you sound blunt.

   It's a nice day, isn't it?

5. やっぱり何なんとかやってのけたね。

   You managed it after all.
