N4 grammar

〜な

na

Telling someone not to

Formation

A な stuck on the end of a dictionary-form verb forbids it. It is the negative twin of the plain command and carries the same bluntness. Do not confuse it with the softening な that follows a finished sentence, which is a completely different particle.
