〜と〜

Formationnoun + と + noun

と joins nouns into a complete list: these things and nothing else. When you want to leave the list open, や does that job instead. Use it when you are naming exactly what you bought or exactly who came.

   I'm a person with guts and a strong will.

2. 日本人にっぽんじんは米こめと魚さかなを主食しゅしょくにしています。

   The basic Japanese diet consists mainly of rice and fish.

3. 日本にっぽんとイギリスは島国しまぐにである。

   Japan and Britain are island countries.

4. ものにはたいてい表ひょうと裏うらがある。

   With most things there's both what you see and what's behind it.

5. サウナとプールがあります。

   There's a sauna and a pool.
