〜とき

Formationplain form + とき (noun + の + とき)

とき marks the time at which something happens, and the tense inside the clause tells you whether it is before or after. It attaches like a noun, so verbs arrive in plain form and na-adjectives take な. It handles when I was a child as easily as when you leave.
